Abia State University (ABSU) has announced the academic calendar for the 2024/2025 session.

The schedule outlines key dates for new and returning students, covering registration, lectures, exams, and breaks.

First Semester

  • Monday, 3rd March – New students arrive, and registration begins (1 week).
  • Saturday, 8th March – Returning students resume, and registration starts.
  • Monday, 10th March – Lectures begin.
  • Friday, 14th March – Orientation for fresh students.
  • Friday, 11th April – Matriculation ceremony for fresh students.
  • Thursday, 17th April – Monday, 21st April – Easter break.
  • Friday, 30th May – Lectures end (12 weeks).
  • Tuesday, 3rd June – Revision begins (1 week).
  • Friday, 6th June – Revision ends.
  • Monday, 9th June – Examinations begin (3 weeks).
  • Friday, 4th July – Examinations end.
  • Saturday, 5th July – Sunday, 20th July – Semester break (2 weeks).

Total Duration – 17 weeks.

Second Semester

  • Monday, 21st July – Resumption and registration (1 week).
  • Monday, 28th July – Lectures begin (12 weeks).
  • Friday, 17th October – Lectures end.
  • Monday, 20th October – Revision begins.
  • Friday, 24th October – Revision ends.
  • Monday, 27th October – Examinations begin (2 weeks).
  • Friday, 14th November – Examinations end.
  • Saturday, 15th November – End of the 2024/2025 session.

Total Duration – 16 weeks.
