COOU 10th-15th Convocation Ceremonies & 25-year Anniversary

COOU will hold its 10th to 15th convocation and 25-year anniversary from 20 to 24 May 2025. All events, payments, dress codes, and collection details have been fixed. Read full programme and instructions below.

Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University will host its 10th to 15th combined convocation ceremonies.

The events run from Tuesday 20 May to Saturday 24 May 2025.

First degrees, postgraduate diplomas, master’s degrees, PhDs, and honorary degrees will be awarded.

A 25-year celebration will also take place during the same week.

Graduands from 2019 to 2024 will take part in the convocation.

  • Facility visit
    Time: 12:00 noon

Saturday 17 May 2025

  • Road walk for the silver jubilee
    Time: 7:00 a.m.
    Venue: COOUTH Field, Awka Campus

  • First Degree: ₦25,000
  • MSc and PGD: ₦70,000
  • PhD: ₦120,000

  • Convocation brochure
  • Academic gown

  • COOU tie or scarf
  • COOU lapel pin

Follow COOU Payment Process for Convocation

  1. Visit the official COOU portal for convocation payment.
  2. Click on the Sundry button.
  3. Choose payment type from the drop-down list.
  4. Generate invoice under Sundry.
  5. Pay online or at any bank.
  6. Print Remita receipt.
  7. Present it before collecting materials.

Obey General Rules for All Graduands

  • Graduands must pay fees before clearance.
  • Higher degree graduands must also pay as stated.
  • Formal dress is required:
    • Men: suit, shirt, tie

    • Women: suit, blouse, skirt, or gown
    • Full national dress is also allowed

Note Collection and Return of Regalia

  • Undergraduates collect gowns from faculties.
  • Postgraduates collect gowns from the Postgraduate School, Igbariam Campus.
  • Collection starts Friday 2 May 2025.
  • Proof of payment is required.
  • Daily processions begin at the front of the Administrative Building, Igbariam Campus.
  • All rented gowns must be returned by Friday 30 May 2025.
  • Late return attracts ₦50,000 penalty.
  • Payment window starts Tuesday 15 April 2025.

Follow Security Guidelines During Events

  • No bags or luggage inside the convocation arena.
  • Park only in areas provided.
  • Security will direct all vehicles.
  • No hawking or trading around the venue.
