LASU 28th Convocation Ceremony Schedule

The Lagos State University (LASU) has announced the schedule for its 28th Convocation Ceremony.

This event will celebrate the achievements of graduands from the 2023/2024 academic session.

Pre-Convocation Events

Day 1: Press Conference and Sports Competition

  • Date: Thursday, 3 April 2025
  • Press Conference Venue: Senate Chamber, Main Campus, Ojo
  • Time: 10:00 a.m.
  • Sports Competition Venue: LASU Sports Centre, Main Campus, Ojo
  • Time: 12:00 noon

Convocation Events

Day 2: Jumat Service

  • Date: Friday, 4 April 2025
  • Venue: University Mosque, Main Campus, Ojo
  • Time: 1:00 p.m.

Day 3: Thanksgiving Service

  • Date: Sunday, 6 April 2025
  • Venue: University Chapel, Main Campus, Ojo
  • Time: 10:00 a.m.

Day 4: Coconut Breaking and Cultural Festival

  • Date: Monday, 7 April 2025
  • Venue: Badagry Gate Entrance, Main Campus, Ojo
  • Time: 9:00 a.m.

Day 5: Convocation Lecture

  • Date: Tuesday, 8 April 2025
  • Venue: Buba Marwa Auditorium, Main Campus, Ojo
  • Time: 11:00 a.m.

Day 6: Award of Diplomas and Degrees

  • Date: Wednesday, 9 April 2025
  • Venue: Buba Marwa Auditorium, Main Campus, Ojo
  • Time: 10:00 a.m.

Day 7: Award of Doctorate and Honorary Degrees

  • Date: Thursday, 10 April 2025
  • Venue: Buba Marwa Auditorium, Main Campus, Ojo
  • Time: 10:00 a.m.

Guidelines for Graduands

  1. Visit LASU Payment Portal to pay for the convocation package.
  2. Return academic gowns by Friday, 11 April 2025, to avoid a daily fine of ₦500.
  3. Lost or damaged gowns will attract a replacement fee of ₦30,000.
  4. Certificates will be available after the ceremony upon gown return.

Ceremony Instructions

  • Graduands must join the procession by 9:00 a.m. to gain entry to the auditorium.
  • Ensure the hood and cap are properly worn with assistance from Faculty Officers.
  • Female graduands should curtsy, while males bow without removing their caps.

Additional Notes

  • Unauthorised movement and photography are not allowed during the ceremony.
  • Graduands and guests under the canopy outside the auditorium should rise as the procession enters and exits.
  • Complete clearance at your Faculty before the convocation to collect certificates.
