Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Resit Examination

The Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) has officially released the schedule for the 2023/2024 Special Resit Examinations.

This decision was approved at the 539th (Regular) meeting of the Senate.

If you are eligible for the resit, take note of the important dates and activities.

Resit Examination Timeline

The schedule for the Special Resit Examinations is as follows:

  • Registration: Starts on Monday, 21st October 2024, and ends on Saturday, 26th October 2024.
  • Revision: Begins on Monday, 21st October 2024, and continues until Saturday, 2nd November 2024.
  • Examination: Takes place from Monday, 4th November 2024, and concludes on Saturday, 9th November 2024.

Resit Examination Fees

Here are the fees for the resit examination:

  • Registration Fee: ₦10,000.00
  • Charge per Course: ₦5,000.00 per course

Who Can Take the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Resit Examination?

The Special Resit Examination is offered to specific groups of students who are unable to graduate due to outstanding courses.

  • Final year students with no more than four (4) outstanding courses are eligible for the resit. Final year students whose residency has not expired can choose whether or not to participate.
  • 300, 500, and 600 level students of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine are eligible to take the resit.
  • 300 level students in the pre-clinical programmes at the College of Medical Sciences can also participate in the resit.

Important Information About the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Resit Examination

During a Special Resit Examination, students can only achieve the minimum passing score for their course.

  • Classified Degrees: The maximum score is 40%.
  • Unclassified Degrees: The maximum score is 50%.
