Overview of LASU Admission Screening

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the Lagos State University 2024/2025 Admission Screening Exercise. This is for regular students and those applying for courses with entrepreneurship training. Participation in this online screening exercise is mandatory for all applicants.

Options for Screening

• Option A: Regular Students seeking admission via UTME (100 level) and Direct Entry.
• Option B: Regular Students with Entrepreneurship seeking admission via UTME (100 level only).

Candidates must choose only one of these options during the admission screening. It is not permitted to apply for both.

Eligibility Criteria for LASU Post UTME Screening

To participate in the LASU admission screening, candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria:

• First Choice Institution: Candidates must have selected Lagos State University as their first choice in the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
• Minimum Score: A minimum score of 195 in the UTME is required.
• Age Requirement: Candidates must be at least 16 years old by 1st October 2024.
• Pre-Degree Students: Those who have completed LASU Pre-Degree Studies and have chosen LASU as their first choice in UTME with a score of 195 or above are eligible.
• Direct Entry: Candidates with a Direct Entry Form from the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and those with a LASU Foundation (JUPEB) are eligible.
• Indigeneship Verification: Candidates of Lagos State Origin who have been verified by the Independent Indigeneship Verification Committee (IIVC) are automatically validated.

How to Apply for LASU Post UTME Screening

Step-by-Step Application Process

To apply for the LASU Post UTME screening, follow these steps:

Online Payment Registration

1. Visit the LASU Website: Go to the Lagos State University official site.
2. Access New Applicants: Navigate to ‘Student’ and click on ‘New Applicants.’
3. Select UTME/DE Screening: Choose the option for UTME/DE Screening.
4. Login with UTME Details: Enter your UTME Registration Number and Surname, then submit.
5. Make Payment: Select the Admission Screening Fee and make the necessary payment.
6. Complete the Screening Application: After payment, complete the application and print the Temporary Self-Screening Report.

Online Self-Screening Form

1. Return to the Screening Portal: Go back to the LASU Screening Platform.
2. Login with UTME Details: Use your UTME Registration Number and Surname to log in.
3. Fill Personal Details: Carefully provide all required personal details.
4. Upload Documents: Scan and upload your UTME and O Level results.
5. Select Courses: Choose your preferred course of study.

Screening Grading System

The screening of candidates is based on a point grading system using the UTME score and SSCE grades in five best relevant subjects. The grading is as follows:

• A1: 10 points
• B2: 9 points
• B3: 8 points
• C4: 7 points
• C5: 6 points
• C6: 5 points

The maximum obtainable score is 50%.
