Federal College of Medical Laboratory Science and Technology, Jos has announced admission into short-term certificate courses for 2025/2026. Interested candidates can now apply for Applied Immunology, Mortuary Science, and Phlebotomy before the closing date. Screening details and application steps are included below.

Official word from the College

The Federal College of Medical Laboratory Science and Technology (FCMLST), Jos has opened its doors for new learners in the 2025/2026 academic session. The focus this time is on short-term certificate courses, offering practical knowledge in areas that touch directly on public health and clinical practice.

Programmes available

Three programmes are up for grabs:

NECO and WAEC CBT App

JAMB CBT App

JAMB CBT SOftware

  • Applied Immunology and Vaccine Science
  • Mortuary Science
  • Phlebotomy

These are not long-term courses, but rather compact programmes designed to sharpen skills and provide recognised certificates.

Who can apply for Applied Immunology and Vaccine Science?

  • Graduates with BMLS or BSc in Biomedical Sciences.
  • Holders of OD or ND in Medical Laboratory Technology who already have at least one year of laboratory, clinical, or research experience.

The course runs for nine months.

Who can apply for Mortuary Science and Phlebotomy?

  • Candidates with BMLS or BSc in Biomedical Sciences.
  • Holders of OD or ND in Medical Laboratory Technology.
  • For Mortuary Science only: Mortuary Attendants with WAEC, NECO, or GCE results showing credits in Biology, Chemistry, English Language, Mathematics, and Physics. Results must be within two sittings, plus at least one year of work experience.

Both Mortuary Science and Phlebotomy run for six months.

How to apply for FCMLST short-term courses

The application is not free. Each candidate must pay a ₦10,000 non-refundable fee through the Remita platform. Here is the process in plain words:

  • Visit Remita.
  • Pick PAY TSA & STATE, then select PAY FGN.
  • Under “Who to Pay,” choose FCMLST Jos 052102704200. Clearly state the payment purpose.
  • Fill in payer details like name, phone, and email.
  • Enter “NII” under the GIFMIS code and add a description.
  • Select a payment method, either card or bank branch.
  • Once done, generate and print out the payment receipt with the Remita code.

Closing date and screening schedule

  • Application closes: Tuesday, 30th September 2025.
  • Screening and registration: Wednesday, 1st to Friday, 3rd October 2025, starting 10.00 am each day.
  • Venue: College Assembly Complex.

Applicants should arrive with original credentials, passport photographs, and the receipt of payment for proper documentation.
