JAMB to set 2025 admission cut-off points & hold admission policy meeting July 8

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has picked Monday, 8 July 2025 to hold its annual policy meeting. That’s the day the board and school heads will agree on the minimum cut-off scores for the 2025 admission round.

What’s This Meeting About?

JAMB uses this yearly gathering to work out the rules for the new admission cycle. The 2025 meeting will take place at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, formerly known as the International Conference Centre, Abuja.

It’s not a public event. Only invited officials will attend. But JAMB says the session will be streamed across its official social media pages.

What Will Be Decided?

At the meeting, JAMB and heads of universities, polytechnics, colleges of education, and monotechnics will:

  • Agree on minimum UTME scores (cut-off marks) for each type of school
  • Set admission timelines and deadlines
  • Release updates on how the process will run for the new session

Who Will Be There?

It’s a closed-door session with:

  • Vice-chancellors of universities
  • Rectors of polytechnics
  • Provosts of colleges of education
  • Officials from the Ministry of Education
  • JAMB executives

They’ll work together to ensure the admission calendar runs smoothly this year.

Extra Info

JAMB may also use the opportunity to reveal names of top scorers in the 2025 UTME. It’s become a regular part of the event in recent years.
