This calendar is not just paper, it is the map that guides the year. A slip here or a missed date there can make the difference between calm waters and rough tides.

First Semester in the LASU Academic Calendar

The first semester is stretched out with clear stages for students to follow.

  • 15 September – 3 October 2025: Registration for new students, lasting three weeks.
  • 6 October – 19 December 2025: Returning students resume, register, and join lectures. Eleven weeks of classes in total.
  • 22 December 2025 – 2 January 2026: End-of-year break, two weeks to breathe.
  • 5 – 9 January 2026: Revision and late registration. Latecomers will pay ₦5,000 for the delay.
  • 12 January – 6 February 2026: Examinations run for four weeks.
  • 9 – 20 February 2026: Grading and uploading of results.
  • 23 – 27 February 2026: Departments and Faculties tidy up, corrections are made, ICT processes results, and Senate sits to give final approval.

At the close of the first semester, new students will have spent 24 weeks in total, while returning students will have 21 weeks under their belt.

Second Semester in the LASU Academic Calendar

The second semester rolls forward without much pause, and the pattern is just as firm.

  • 2 March – 22 May 2026: Resumption, registration, and lectures for both new and returning students, lasting 12 weeks.
  • 25 May – 5 June 2026: Examinations across all levels.
  • 8 – 19 June 2026: Results graded and uploaded.
  • 22 – 26 June 2026: Departmental and Faculty boards handle corrections, ICT runs final processing.
  • 29 June – 3 July 2026: Results are collated and Senate meets to approve them.
  • 6 July 2026: The end-of-session break begins.

The second semester holds 20 weeks in total.

Breaks and Transition to a New Session

Students will enjoy a sessional break from 6 July to 2 October 2026, giving a full three months away from classes. Then, on 6 October 2026, the curtain rises on the 2026/2027 academic year.

Final Note

This calendar was approved by the Vice-Chancellor, based on the recommendation of the Committee of Provost, Deans, and Directors, after their sitting on 11 September 2025.

So here it is, the year ahead drawn out in dates and weeks. For students, it is less about memorising and more about keeping pace. Miss a week, and you may find yourself playing catch-up. Better to keep this schedule close, maybe even pinned on the wall.
