NSUK Splits Mass Comm., Updates Courses For 2025 Post-UTME
Nasarawa State University Keffi has announced changes to its courses for the 2025/2026 Post-UTME. Mass Communication is now split into three separate fields, while Estate Management and Agriculture applicants must update their choices. All affected candidates must make changes before 29th August to join the screening exercise.
Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK) has rung the bell for change. What many knew simply as Mass Communication will now take different shapes. No longer one big umbrella, it has been broken down into three fresh degree paths:
- Broadcasting
- Journalism and Media Studies
- Public Relations
The move came through a circular signed by the Registrar, Dr. Bala Isyaka Ahmed II, on Wednesday, 20th August 2025. Candidates who chose Mass Communication in this year’s UTME or Direct Entry must quickly update their course choice to any of these three if they want to sit for the Post-UTME.
Other Courses Affected
The ripple didn’t stop at Mass Comm. Two other areas were touched as well.
- Applicants who picked Estate Management need to switch to Urban and Regional Planning, since Estate Management is not part of NSUK’s offerings.
- Those who applied for Agriculture should change to one of these:
- Animal Science
- Agronomy
- Agricultural Economics and Extension
- Fisheries and Aquaculture Management
- Forestry, Wildlife and Ecotourism
- Home Science and Management
So yes, Agriculture as a stand-alone course is off the table. Students must now choose a special track under it.
Why The Changes Matter
It might sound like a small shuffle, but the effect is big. Without making these changes, candidates risk being locked out of the Post-UTME screening. And as the notice makes clear, that screening is mandatory.
The closing date for the exercise stays fixed at 29th August, 2025. No push forward, no delay. Miss it and that’s it for the year.
The Bottom Line
For candidates, the message is simple: act now. Go back to the JAMB portal, adjust your course of study, and save your seat in the screening hall. As Nigerians like to say, better to shine your eyes now than regret later.
