BUK Sets Date for New Academic Session

BUK management said it has completed arrangements for a smooth take-off of the session.

Lecture timetables have been released and pasted on notice boards across faculties and departments, while courses and their codes have also been uploaded on the university portal for student registration.

Full lectures will begin on Monday, 18 May 2026.

Students should take that date seriously.

Lecture Halls and Academic Venues

Faculty officers have been directed to clean lecture halls and theatres before lectures begin.

The university also asked deans, heads of departments, and faculty examination officers to provide what is needed for lectures at all venues; this covers the work needed before students and lecturers return fully to academic activities.

Teaching spaces must be ready.

Notice to Students

Students have been advised to attend lectures promptly from the first day.

BUK stated that time lost will not be regained, so students are expected to follow their lecture schedules from Monday, 18 May 2026.

Monitoring of Lectures

The Vice-Chancellor’s Monitoring Team will begin inspection visits on 18 May 2026.

The team will check compliance with lecture schedules across the university, while deans and heads of departments have been asked to mobilise teaching staff and academic technologists for the start of full academic work.
