LASU Receives JAMB NATAP-M Award

JAMB presented the cash prize during the 2026 JAMB Policy Meeting held on Monday, 11 May 2026, in Abuja.

The award formed part of the National Tertiary Admissions’ Performance-Merit Award, known as the NATAP-M Awards; LASU placed as Second Runner-Up in the overall category for the 2025 admission year.

The university recorded an aggregate score of three points across the five assessment elements of the Mega Award.

This came under the 6th edition of the award.

Award Presented to LASU Vice-Chancellor

The Registrar of JAMB, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, presented the award to the Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University, Distinguished Professor Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM.

The presentation marked another public recognition for LASU at the national admission meeting.

LASU’s Recent UTME Record

The ₦25 million award came after LASU recorded the highest number of first-choice applications for the 2026 admission exercise.

A total of 84,326 candidates picked LASU as their first-choice university in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, keeping the school at the top of Nigeria’s admission demand table for the second straight year.

Vice-Chancellor Reacts to the Award

Distinguished Professor Olatunji-Bello described the two achievements as proof of LASU’s commitment to excellence, fresh thinking, transparency, and a student-centred administration.

For LASU, the JAMB award and the first-choice application record now sit side by side.

Both came from the same admission cycle; both also kept the university firmly in the national spotlight.
