What is the International Youth Math Challenge?

The International Youth Math Challenge (IYMC) is one of the largest online math competitions for students worldwide. Participants can win awards, cash prizes worth over $700, and the opportunity to qualify for the final round. Additionally, you could become an official IYMC ambassador in your country or join an international network of outstanding students.

Competition Rounds and Process

The IYMC 2024 takes place in three rounds:

1. Qualification Round

  • Solve five math problems.
  • To qualify for the pre-final round, you need to solve at least three problems correctly (under 18) or four problems (over 18).
  • Submit your solutions online by 15th December 2024.
  • All participants receive certificates.

2. Pre-Final Round

  • Successful participants can register in November.
  • Solve eight problems of three types: 3 basic problems, 3 advanced problems, and 2 special creativity problems.
  • You have one week to complete this round.

3. Final Round

  • Successful finalists will participate in a 20-minute online exam supervised by a supervisor.
  • Winners receive certificates and cash prizes worth over $700.

Eligibility

The competition is open to all high school and university students.
