Apply for Mastercard Foundation Masters Scholarships at Makerere University

Makerere University is offering Mastercard Foundation scholarships for the 2025–2026 master’s degree session.

This support targets young people from Africa who face money problems that stop them from joining university.

The offer is only for the main campus.

The full support runs for ten years and covers both bachelor’s and master’s levels.

This round of applications is only for master’s level.

    Receive Full Student Support

    Each selected person will get:

    • Tuition fees and other school costs
    • Laptop, books, and study tools
    • Housing, bedding, and food
    • Health care plan
    • Monthly allowance
    • Travel from home and back

    Meet the Eligibility Rules

    To qualify, you must:

    • Be from Uganda, a refugee, a person with a disability, displaced, or from another African country
    • Have finished a bachelor’s degree from an African country
    • Have applied for admission to the Makerere University main campus for 2025–2026
    • Not hold another scholarship
    • Not be studying or have finished any master’s degree
    • Show signs of leadership or service in your area
    • Be under 35 years old by the deadline
    • If a refugee or a person with a disability, be under 40 years old by the deadline
    • If a refugee, hold a Refugee ID card or Family Attestation
    • Apply for one of the master’s degrees listed under this programme

    All applications must be submitted by Friday, 6 June 2025 at 11:59 PM EAT.
