Apply for The Nigeria Prize for Literature 2025

The Nigeria Prize for Literature is open for entries.

The prize rotates yearly among Prose Fiction, Poetry, Drama, and Children’s Literature. This year, the focus is Prose Fiction.

Prize Award

  • USD 100,000 for the best book by a Nigerian author.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Be Nigerian citizens and provide a photocopy of a Nigerian passport or National Identity Card.
  • Submit one published book (unpublished works are not accepted).
  • Ensure the book was published in 2022 or later.
  • Not submit books previously entered for the competition, even if revised or republished.
  • Not be members of the Advisory Board, Panel of Judges, or NLNG staff and their families.

Submission Process

  • Obtain the application form from The Nigeria Prizes Website.
  • Print and submit the form with twelve hard copies and one e-copy of the book.
  • Send entries to one of the following locations:

  • Submit before midnight GMT on Wednesday, 2nd April 2025.
  • Late entries will not be accepted.
