If you’ve recently completed your 2024 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) Registration, and you’ve noticed an error in your application, or you wish to make alterations to your course or institution choice, you are in the right place.

This blog post aims to provide a detailed guide on how to modify your personal information, including correcting errors in your Name, Date of Birth, Gender, State/LGA of Origin, and Passport Photograph, as well as changes in your subjects, profile, and course or institution selection.

Categories of JAMB Data Correction

The following are the categories for which candidates can make corrections:

  1. Names Correction: This service allows candidates to correct spelling errors or arrangement mistakes in their names, such as Surname, Firstname, or Lastname. Remember, this correction can only be done once.
  2. Date of Birth Correction: If there’s an error in your date of birth, you can correct it. However, this correction is a one-time opportunity.
  3. Passport Photograph Correction: Any error in the passport photograph submitted can be corrected only once.
  4. Gender Correction: For gender-related errors, corrections can be made. Supporting documents may be required for this change, and it can only be made once.
  5. State/LGA Correction: To correct your State/LGA of Origin, you might need to provide supporting documents. This correction can also be made only once.
  6. Profile Correction: Any required correction in your profile can be made once.
  7. Choice of Institution/Course Correction: This service allows candidates to change their choice of course or institution. Unlike other categories, this correction can be done multiple times with separate payments.

The cost for corrections regarding the Course/Institution, Names, Date of Birth, Gender, State/LGA of Origin, etc., is N2,500 (two thousand five hundred naira only).

Follow these steps to make any of the corrections mentioned above:

  1. Visit the JAMB portal at https://efacility.jamb.gov.ng/.
  2. Login with your Email and Password.
  3. Click on ‘Registration (2024 only)’ from the list of services on the left side.
  4. From the drop-down, select ‘2024 UTME Data Correction’ / ‘2024 DE Data Correction’ as your case may be.
  5. Proceed with the payment.

After payment, visit the closest JAMB office or a JAMB accredited centre to complete the correction process.

For 2022 and Earlier: JAMB Change of Course & Institution / Data Correction Procedure

For those who registered in 2023 or earlier years and need to change their data on the JAMB portal, follow these steps:

  1. Visit JAMB E-facility portal at https://efacility.jamb.gov.ng/.
  2. Login with your Email and Password.
  3. Click on ‘Application for Correction of Data (2023 Downward)’ from the list of services on the left side.
  4. From the drop-down, select the one you wish to correct, i.e., Course/Institution, Name, Date of Birth, Gender, State/LGA of Origin.

Please note, you may need to visit the JAMB State Office to make some corrections.

Important Notice

Please be informed that under no circumstances should the correction of data be done by proxy. All corrections must be done by the applicant themselves to avoid errors and complications.
