BUK School Fees Schedule

Bayero University, Kano has released the approved undergraduate school fees schedule for the 2025/2026 academic session.

The notice applies to new and returning students of the university, and it covers acceptance fee, tuition, general registration charges, faculty payments and hostel charges.

BUK Acceptance Fee

All new students must pay the acceptance fee before screening.

The acceptance fee is:

  • Acceptance fee: ₦10,000

Registration fees are not refundable after payment.

BUK Tuition Fees

Nigerian students do not pay tuition.

Non-Nigerian students will pay tuition based on their faculty, college or school.

The tuition fees for non-Nigerian students are:

  • Arts and Islamic Studies: ₦200,000
  • Social Sciences: ₦200,000
  • Economics and Management Sciences: ₦200,000
  • Education: ₦300,000
  • Law: ₦300,000
  • Agriculture: ₦400,000
  • Communication: ₦400,000
  • Computing: ₦400,000
  • Engineering: ₦400,000
  • Earth and Environmental Sciences: ₦400,000
  • Life Science: ₦400,000
  • Physical Sciences: ₦400,000
  • School of Continuing Education: ₦400,000
  • College of Health Sciences, including Pharmaceutical Sciences: ₦600,000

BUK General Registration Charges

The general registration charges apply to all students.

The fees have been consolidated, and the amount depends on the faculty or department.

Arts, Law, Social Sciences and Economics Groups

This category covers students from:

  • Faculty of Arts and Islamic Studies, except History
  • Faculty of Law
  • Faculty of Social Sciences
  • Economics and Management Sciences, except Accounting, Business Administration and Finance

Fees are:

  • Returning students: ₦96,000
  • Fresh students, L100 and L200: ₦106,800

Accounting and Finance

Students in Accounting and Finance will pay:

  • Returning students: ₦98,000
  • Fresh students, L100 and L200: ₦108,800

Computing, Communication, Education and Business Administration Groups

This category covers students from:

  • Faculty of Computing
  • Faculty of Communication, except Theatre and Performing Arts
  • Earth and Environmental Sciences, except Architecture, Geology, Quantity Surveying and URP
  • Faculty of Education
  • Business Administration

Fees are:

  • Returning students: ₦101,000
  • Fresh students, L100 and L200: ₦111,800

Architecture, Geology and Urban and Regional Planning

Students in these departments will pay:

  • Returning students: ₦106,000
  • Fresh students, L100 and L200: ₦116,800

Allied Health Sciences

Students from the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences will pay:

  • Returning students: ₦141,000
  • Fresh students, L100 and L200: ₦151,800

Clinical Sciences and Dentistry

Students from Clinical Sciences and Dentistry will pay:

  • Returning students: ₦161,000
  • Fresh students, L100 and L200: ₦171,800

Veterinary Medicine

Students from Veterinary Medicine will pay:

  • Returning students: ₦111,000
  • Fresh students, L100 and L200: ₦121,800

Basic Medical Sciences, Life Sciences and Physical Sciences

Students from these faculties will pay:

  • Returning students: ₦103,000
  • Fresh students, L100 and L200: ₦113,800

Agriculture, History and Quantity Surveying

This category covers students from:

  • Faculty of Agriculture
  • Department of History
  • Department of Quantity Surveying

Fees are:

  • Returning students: ₦102,000
  • Fresh students, L100 and L200: ₦112,800

Pharmaceutical Sciences

Students from Pharmaceutical Sciences will pay:

  • Returning students: ₦104,000
  • Fresh students, L100 and L200: ₦114,800

Engineering

Students from the Faculty of Engineering will pay:

  • Returning students: ₦108,000
  • Fresh students, L100 and L200: ₦118,800

Theatre and Performing Arts

Students from Theatre and Performing Arts will pay:

  • Returning students: ₦131,000
  • Fresh students, L100 and L200: ₦141,800

Extra Faculty and Departmental Charges

Some students must pay extra charges at their faculties, departments or relevant units.

The listed charges are:

  • Architecture students: ₦5,000 for ARCON, payable at the department
  • Geology students: ₦50,000 for practical and field trips, payable at the department
  • Pharmaceutical Science students: ₦10,000 for induction, laboratory manuals and consumables, payable at the faculty
  • Chemistry and Industrial Chemistry students: ₦1,500 for laboratory manual and report book, payable at the department
  • Life Science L100 students: ₦3,000 for laboratory manuals, payable at the faculty
  • Microbiology L200 students: ₦1,500 for laboratory manuals, payable at the department
  • Medical graduates applying for ECFMG certification and report: ₦60,000 service charge
  • Adult Education students: ₦1,000 for vocational training fee, payable at the department
  • Geography and Education/Geography L300 students: ₦2,000 for field trip, payable at the department
  • Clinical Science and Dentistry students: ₦40,000 to their faculties and ₦20,000 to the college
  • Allied Health Sciences students: ₦25,000 to the faculty and ₦15,000 to the college
  • Agriculture students: ₦2,000 for Agric inputs, payable at the faculty
  • Veterinary Medicine students: ₦10,000 for practical manuals, consumables and animal identification/handling exercise
  • Veterinary Medicine students: ₦20,000 for field trip or excursion fees, payable by all students in the faculty
  • Law students: ₦2,000 for Law Clinic/Moot Trails, payable at the faculty
  • Biochemistry and Nutrition and Dietetics students: ₦5,000 as peculiar charges, payable at the faculty
  • Anatomy and Human Physiology students: ₦10,000 as peculiar charges, payable at the faculty
  • Computing students: ₦2,500 for laboratory manual, payable at the faculty
  • Computing students: ₦1,700 for log books, payable at the faculty
  • All SIWES students: ₦500 for logbook, payable to the Directorate of Academic Planning

BUK Hostel and Hostel Maintenance Charges

Hostel and hostel maintenance charges apply only to students allocated bed spaces in university halls of residence.

The listed hostel charges are:

  • ₦37,590
  • ₦80,090
  • ₦150,090 for M Block, as the case may be
