UNILAG Registration & Screening Procedure

The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has begun the registration and screening process for all newly admitted UTME and Direct Entry candidates for the 2024/2025 academic session.

The exercise will run from Monday, 2nd December 2024, to Friday, 20th December 2024, and Monday, 6th January 2025, to Friday, 24th January 2025.

Candidates must adhere to the outlined procedures to ensure smooth registration.

Stage 1: Booking a Registration Appointment

Candidates offered admission must schedule a registration appointment.

  • Visit the UNILAG Student Portal.
  • Log in using your JAMB Number or Application Number as your username and your surname in lowercase as your password.
  • Change the default password after logging in.
  • Click on “Appointment” in the menu bar.
  • Select “New Appointment.”
  • Choose the appropriate appointment option for your faculty.
  • Pick a date and session for the appointment.
  • Click “Schedule Appointment” and print the booking slip.

The appointment slip must be presented at the registration venue.

Stage 2: Uploading Required Documents

Candidates must upload the necessary documents before proceeding to the screening venue.

  • Log in to the UNILAG Student Portal using the credentials provided in Stage 1.
  • Fill out the bio-data form and print the screening form.
  • Upload the following documents (original copies):
    • JAMB Admission Letter.
    • O’Level Result.
    • Testimonial from the secondary school attended.
    • Previous degree certificate (Direct Entry only).
    • Birth certificate.
    • Letter of reference addressed to the Registrar, University of Lagos.
    • State of Origin Certificate.

Stage 3: Screening

Candidates must attend the screening at the scheduled date and time.

  • Submit two copies of each of the following documents:
    • Screening form from Stage 2.
    • UNILAG online application form (Direct Entry only).
    • JAMB acknowledgment slip (Direct Entry only).
    • JAMB admission letter.
    • UTME result slip (not applicable for Direct Entry candidates).
    • Post-UTME result slip.
    • JUPEB, A-Level, OND, HND, or BSc result slip (Direct Entry only).
    • O’Level result certificate (WAEC or NECO; online printouts are not accepted).
    • Letter of reference on official letterhead with NBA seal (for lawyers).
    • Birth certificate.
    • Testimonial from secondary school attended.
    • State of Origin Certificate matching the one used for JAMB registration.
    • Twelve passport photographs with full names written on the back.

Candidates must present the original copies of all submitted credentials for verification.

Stage 4: Payment of Fees

After completing Stage 3, candidates must generate a payment advice 24 hours later.

Payments can be made at any bank using the generated advice.

Stage 5: Faculty and Departmental Registration

Candidates must visit their respective faculties and departments to complete further registration processes.

Important Notices

Impersonation during the registration process will lead to forfeiture of admission and may involve legal action.

The university enforces zero tolerance for drug use, with mandatory drug tests conducted for all newly admitted students.

Students who test positive or fail to undergo the test will have their admission withdrawn.

Dates for matriculation and orientation programmes will be announced by the university.
