This is a debate I want all hands to be on deck. Take for instance a student having at the back of his mind the reality of the whole negative marking controversy might just save himself some marks. This is so because students will definitely refuse to shade answers which they are not so sure of so it will not be at the expense of the others.
Then again on the other part, guessing can also be beneficial as luck plays a vital role even in exams. Guessing enables students to shade what they are not totally sure of with some degree of hope.
Now with this whole negative marking stuff, students have been deprived of that.
So where did this whole thing emerge from? Was it announced by JAMB officials that they do use negative marking and if yes was it on Radio or TV[ needs a solid backup as proof] or is it just a myth to scare students aware from the guess club? Anyone who reads this should deliberate on this and let's see if the wrong information have been passed on for years or if the whole thing is true.
