Please Note: Nigerian tertiary institutions don’t make use of any outside agent and will not make use of any in the 2024/2025 admission exercise. Aspirants are thereby advised to stay clear from such in processing their applications. Applications should be processed directly, following each guideline and instructions issued by the institution

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has introduced a new service to assist candidates who are unable to recover lost SIM cards linked to their previous registrations.

Announcing the update on Thursday via its official X (formerly Twitter) account, JAMB confirmed that the feature is now accessible at all Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres.

Service Process for Lost SIM Recovery

The Board advised candidates to complete a designated template at CBT centres to use the new service, especially for the upcoming Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) registration.

“Good news for those who cannot retrieve their previously used but lost SIM cards. A feature is now available at all CBT centres to address your case. Kindly fill the template to access this service for the upcoming UTME/DE registration. Note that SIM SWAP is still not available,” JAMB announced.

Registration Schedule for UTME and DE

The feature's rollout coincides with the start of UTME and Direct Entry (DE) registration. UTME registration begins on Friday, 31 January, and ends on Saturday, 8 March 2025, while Direct Entry registration is scheduled to start on Monday, 10 March, and close on Monday, 7 April 2025.

UTME/DE Registration Costs

JAMB has also provided details on the 2025 registration fees for both UTME and DE candidates. The fees are structured as follows:

  1. UTME with Mock Test: ₦8,700
  2. UTME without Mock Test: ₦7,200
  3. Mock Trial Testing for Future Candidates: ₦3,500
  4. Direct Entry (DE): ₦5,700

Fee Breakdown

In its announcement, JAMB outlined the breakdown of registration costs:

  • UTME/DE application fee: ₦3,500
  • Reading Text: ₦1,000
  • CBT centre registration service charge: ₦700
  • CBT centre UTME service charge: ₦1,500
  • CBT Mock service charge: ₦1,500
  • Bank charges: ₦500

JAMB emphasized that the SIM recovery feature aims to provide a solution for candidates who might otherwise face setbacks during registration due to lost SIM cards. Candidates are urged to make use of this feature to ensure a smooth registration process.
