Sokoto State University, Sokoto has commenced its online screening exercise for the 2026/2027 Academic Session.

This screening exercise is for all candidates who applied for admission into the university through the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) and Direct Entry (D.E), with a minimum score of 150 in the UTME. Candidates must have chosen the institution as their FIRST CHOICE. The screening exercise begins on Tuesday, 11th August, 2026.

D.E candidates are required to upload a scanned copy of their relevant A'level results, such as Diploma, NCE, IJMB, etc., on the University portal.

Both UTME and DE candidates must have uploaded their O'level results with a minimum of five credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, at not more than two sittings, on JAMB's CAPS at https://jamb.caps.gov.ng or visit any JAMB accredited CBT centre.

SCREENING PROCEDURE

To participate in the screening exercise, candidates should follow these steps:

• Go to the application portal at https://applicant.safapply.com/ssu
• Click on the down arrow or scroll down the page to input your Registration Number to check your eligibility and see your course.
• Click on the More information button beside the course to view the course requirements.
• Note that the More information feature enables you to view the requirements, registration fee, duration, application closing date, and session.

Step 3 requires candidates to click on the Apply Now button.

Step 4: If candidates have an existing account, they should click on Login with Google.

Step 5: If candidates do not have an account, they should click on Sign up with Google.

Note: Candidates can also log in and sign up manually by providing their details in the form below the buttons in steps 4 & 5. To create an account, candidates need a valid email address and phone number and choose a password with the right combination. Once candidates have provided all the details, a verification code will be sent to their email address, and they will need to provide the code in the spaces provided to create an account successfully. Thereafter, candidates log in using the email address and password if they have an existing account.

Step 6: Once candidates have successfully logged in or registered their account, they should click on the Proceed to application form button.

Note: Candidates will be directed to an application fee payment page for the payment of ₦2,000 only (transaction charges exclusive). Candidates should kindly follow the payment instructions on the payment page, check the 2 boxes provided, and click on Proceed to payment. Once the payment is successful, candidates can now access the application form.

To view the status of their payment, candidates should check their Transaction history tab on their application portal.

Step 7: Candidates should select Preview & Submit after completing the form.

Step 8: To make changes to their entries on the form, candidates should click Update form.

Step 9: To submit the form, candidates should click Submit form.

Note: The screening is strictly online, and no Post-UTME examination will be required of applicants at any time. Only candidates who complete the screening process will be considered for admission.
