The Federal University of Medical and Health Sciences (FUMHS), Kwale, has officially released its academic calendar for the 2025/2026 session. Approved by the university's administration and signed by the Registrar, Mr. Ohwojeroh Lucky Mustapha, the calendar outlines a structured 30-week session, divided into two semesters.

The first semester is set to commence on Sunday, 4th January 2026, with student resumption, followed by a week of online and physical clearance, fee payment, course registration, and documentation from 5th to 9th January. Lectures will begin on Monday, 12th January, and will run for seven weeks.

Key events in the first semester include the university's orientation program, scheduled for the 8th week, on 23rd February, and the matriculation ceremony, which will take place on Saturday, 28th February 2026. After a brief orientation, lectures will resume for four more weeks, followed by a one-week Easter break from 2nd to 7th April. A revision week is slated for 7th to 10th April, before the first-semester examinations, which will run from 13th to 30th April 2026. The semester will conclude on Friday, 1st May 2026, with students proceeding on break.

The second semester will begin on Sunday, 31st May 2026, with student resumption, and lectures are scheduled to run continuously for eleven weeks, from 1st June to 14th August 2026. A one-week revision period is slated for 16th – 21st August, followed immediately by second-semester examinations from 24th August to 11th September 2026. The 2025/2026 academic session will officially come to a close on Saturday, 12th September 2026.

The Senate will convene to consider the academic session results on Monday, 5th October 2026, while returning students are expected to resume for the 2026/2027 academic session on Monday, 12th October 2026. The university's calendar notes that all national public holidays and other special days will be observed throughout the session. Prospective and returning students are advised to take note of the critical dates to ensure a smooth and organized academic year.
