In a significant development for its students, Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka, has announced the reopening of its course registration portal for the 2025/2026 academic session. This decision was outlined in an internal memorandum issued by the Office of the Registrar on January 12, 2026.
The reopening of the portal was approved by the Vice-Chancellor to facilitate the completion of course registrations for the ongoing session. The university management has specified that the portal will be available for a period of two weeks, commencing on Monday, January 12, 2026, and closing on Sunday, January 25, 2026.
It is crucial for students to note that failure to register within this timeframe will result in a late registration penalty, applicable from Monday, January 26, to Thursday, February 12, 2026. Following this, the portal will be permanently closed for first semester registrations on Friday, February 13, 2026.
The primary objective behind this reopening is to ensure that students are adequately prepared for the first semester examinations, which are slated to begin on Monday, March 2, 2026. The university has urged all concerned students to utilize this opportunity and comply with the registration requirements, emphasizing that timely registration is a fundamental academic necessity.
