Prospective candidates who chose Edo State University, Iyamho, as their first-choice institution and scored 150 and above in the 2026 UTME, as well as candidates who applied for Direct Entry admission, can now register for the 2026/2027 Post-UTME and Direct Entry Screening Exercise.

The registration window opened on Friday, June 12th, and will close on Monday, August 31st, 2026. To be eligible for screening and admission, candidates must satisfy all the following requirements: they must have registered and sat for the 2026 UTME, obtained a minimum score of 150, and the University-approved cut-off mark for their chosen programme, with the required O'Level credits as specified in the JAMB Brochure.

They must have selected Edo State University, Iyamho, as their first-choice institution on JAMB. Candidates applying for Direct Entry must have registered through JAMB and meet the University's DE requirements. They must be at least 16 years old on or before 30 September 2026.

Candidates who did not initially choose Edo State University, Iyamho, as their first-choice institution but scored a minimum of 150 and met the University-approved cut-off mark for their chosen programme may also apply, provided they change their institution of first choice to Edo State University, Iyamho, through the JAMB Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) before applying for the screening exercise.

Only candidates who upload their O'Level results to JAMB CAPS on or before 31 August 2026 will be considered for admission. The minimum JAMB Score requirements for each programme are as follows:

Faculty of Arts and Communication: Broadcasting (150), English (150), History and International Studies (150), Journalism and Media Studies (150), Mass Communication (160). Faculty of Law: Law (LL.B) (185). Faculty of Management and Social Sciences: Accounting (150), Banking and Finance (150), Business Administration (150), Economics (150), Entrepreneurship (150), Political Science (150), Public Administration (150), Peace and Conflict Studies (150), Sociology (150). The application fees are as follows: UTME and Direct Entry, a non-refundable screening fee of ₦2,000; Transfer Candidates, a non-refundable transfer application fee of ₦60,000. Payments must be made only via the Remita platform on the University website.

To apply, candidates should visit the University's Admission Portal at edouniversity.edu.ng/admissions/register for UTME/DE Admission and edouniversity.edu.ng/admissions/StartTransferRegistration for Inter-University Transfer Admission. They should select their preferred application category, click 'Admission Requirements/Details' and read the guidelines carefully before proceeding.

They should click 'Application Forms' and enter their JAMB Registration Number in the prescribed format. Candidates should use their personal email address and phone number throughout the application process.

They should complete all required steps and upload all necessary supporting documents. Candidates can re-login using the 'Already Applied?' option to monitor their application status at any time.

Candidates who did not initially choose ESUI but scored at least 150 and meet the cut-off mark must change their first-choice institution to ESUI through JAMB CAPS before beginning the application.

The nature of the screening exercise will be physical (on-campus) for applicants for Medicine and Surgery, Nursing, and Law, who will be required to attend a Post-UTME Screening Test on campus. The date and time will be communicated later.

Screening is based on Post-UTME Test + verified JAMB score + O'Level results on JAMB CAPS. All other UTME programmes will be screened online only, based on verified JAMB scores and O'Level results uploaded to JAMB CAPS.

Direct Entry candidates are also screened online — except those applying for Medicine and Surgery, Nursing, and Law who must additionally sit the Post-DE Screening Test.

Candidates are advised to ensure that the information on their JAMB CAPS profile matches exactly with the Post-UTME Application Portal — including JAMB Registration Number, Date of Birth, State of Origin, and other personal details.

They must provide valid mobile telephone numbers and functional email addresses for future correspondence. Candidates awaiting NABTEB, WAEC (May/June), or NECO (June/July) 2026 results may apply, provided results are uploaded to JAMB CAPS by 31 August 2026.

Only candidates who complete their applications and upload O'Level results to JAMB CAPS on or before the deadline will be considered for admission. Any offer of admission must be accepted on JAMB CAPS within two weeks of the offer being made.

Failure to accept within this period will result in automatic withdrawal of the offer. Admission into Edo State University, Iyamho, is strictly based on merit and due process. Admission is not for sale.
