The University of Uyo has announced the release of voter verification guidelines for the upcoming 2025/2026 Students' Union Government elections.
The guidelines, issued by the Student Affairs Division, state that all eligible students must undergo physical voter verification at designated centres on their respective campuses to participate in the election.
To verify, students will need to present a valid means of identification, such as a National Identification Number Card or Slip, Permanent Voter's Card, or International Passport, between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on the scheduled dates.
The verification schedule is as follows:
The university has reminded students that their Voter Registration Certificate's registration code will be required during verification. Additionally, a unique Voting PIN will be sent privately to each verified voter on Election Day.
The Student Affairs Division has emphasized that voter verification is mandatory, warning that failure to complete the exercise will result in ineligibility to vote in the 2025/2026 Students' Union Government elections.
Therefore, students are advised to verify their voter status within the scheduled dates and at their designated centres to avoid being disenfranchised.
