The National Universities Commission has given the University of Offa the green light to start four new health-related programmes. This approval is for the 2026/2027 academic session.
According to the university, the NUC's approval follows a successful resource verification exercise. This exercise was conducted in April 2026 by a delegation from the NUC.
The university received formal approval in a letter dated June 16, 2026. The letter was signed by Abubakar M. Girei, the NUC Director of Academic Planning.
The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Kazeem Alagbe Gbolagade, welcomed the approval as a significant milestone. He praised the university's founder, governing council, management, staff, students, and stakeholders for their contributions.
He noted that the achievement shows the institution's commitment to academic excellence and quality assurance. The university is also committed to investing in human and physical resources.
The Vice-Chancellor reassured prospective students and parents that the university is dedicated to maintaining high academic standards. The goal is to produce skilled professionals who can compete globally.
