Faculty of Education, Lagos State University (LASU), recently conducted an election to choose a new dean.
The election took place on Monday, 27 July 2026, at the 3-in-1 Executive Hall, Faculty of Education, Main Campus, Ojo, Lagos, and was characterized by peace and transparency.
Professor Raimi Abiodun MORONFOLU, from the Department of Human Kinetics, Sports, and Health Education, secured the position of dean after garnering 79 votes, surpassing Professor Simeon Adetunji DOSUNMU of the Department of Educational Foundations and Counselling Psychology, who received 57 votes.
The outcome of the election was formally announced by the Returning Officer and Deputy Registrar/Faculty Officer, Mrs Modupe OBAYOMI-DAVIES, following the collation of results.
The electoral process unfolded in an orderly atmosphere, with faculty members actively participating. The Returning Officer, Mrs Modupe OBAYOMI-DAVIES, praised the faculty members for their impressive turnout and commitment to upholding transparency, institutional integrity, and democratic participation after the election.
With Professor MORONFOLU's emergence, the Faculty of Education enters a new chapter in academic and administrative leadership.
