The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) Nnamdi Azikiwe University (NAU) Branch announced that it is immediately halting its service withdrawal now that the full August 2026 salary has been disbursed to every member.
In a communiqué dated September 11, 2026, the ASUU‑NAU Branch Executive reminded that staff had opted to suspend their duties pending receipt of the complete August 2026 wages, in line with the union’s Congress resolution and the notice issued on September 7, 2026.
The union verified that the entire August 2026 payroll has now been settled for all members.
Accordingly, the Branch ordered the immediate cessation of the service withdrawal, effective from Friday, September 11, 2026.
All ASUU‑NAU members have been instructed to return to their academic and administrative responsibilities, which include teaching, delivering lectures, supervising students, marking assignments, attending committee meetings, and submitting examination results, among other tasks.
The union praised its cadres for their determination, unity and discipline throughout the action, noting that their collective effort produced a favorable outcome.
ASUU‑NAU also called on members to stay alert and continue tracking any further developments, adding that official information will be shared through the union’s communication channels.
The statement bears the signatures of Comrade Innocent Nnubia, Chairperson, and Comrade Osita Nnajiofor, Secretary of ASUU‑NAU.
