The Students’ Union Government (SUG) of Federal University Wukari (FUW) in Taraba State announced that the Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) applications for the 2026/2027 academic session are now open.
In a notice dated 16 September 2026, the SUG stated that the Dean of Student Affairs directed the union to inform the student body that the NELFUND application portal for the new session has been launched.
All eligible and interested students are encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity by visiting the official NELFUND portal and completing their applications.
Applicants are advised to provide accurate, up‑to‑date information throughout the process and to follow all instructions posted on the portal carefully.
The NELFUND officer at Federal University Wukari further recommended that students submit their applications early rather than waiting until the closing date, noting that early filing can help avoid last‑minute congestion on the portal and other unforeseen challenges.
The SUG also cautioned students against using unofficial channels or individuals claiming to assist with the NELFUND application, urging them to rely solely on official NELFUND communications and the SUG for details on application, verification, approval and disbursement.
Additionally, the union warned students to remain vigilant against fraudsters requesting sensitive personal information in connection with the loan application.
The Students’ Union Government assured the campus community that it will continue to provide relevant updates on the NELFUND scheme as new information becomes available.
