Rom Kalihu, acting on behalf of the Senate, has given its approval to the Academic Calendar for the 2026/2027 Harmattan Semester as submitted by the Committee of Deputy Vice‑Chancellors, Provosts and Deans.

JULY, 2026

• Saturday, July 25 – 2025/2026 Rain Semester examinations conclude
• Monday, July 27 – 2025/2026 Rain Semester and the academic session finish; the end‑of‑session break starts for every student

OCTOBER, 2026

• Monday, October 5 – Fresh students resume studies for the 2026/2027 Harmattan Semester
• Verification of certificates, documentation, and registration for fresh entrants begins
• Registration without penalty for fresh entrants opens
• Monday, October 12 – Returning students resume studies for the 2026/2027 Harmattan Semester
• Registration without penalty for returning students starts
• Lectures commence for both fresh and returning cohorts
• Sunday, October 25 – The penalty‑free registration period for returning students ends
• Monday, October 26 – Registration with penalty for returning students commences
• Friday, October 30 – The verification window for certificates, documentation and registration for fresh students closes

NOVEMBER, 2026

• Monday, November 2 – Penalty‑based registration for returning students ends
• Sunday, November 8 – Penalty‑free registration for fresh students concludes
• Monday, November 9 – Orientation program for fresh students takes place
• Thursday, November 12 – Matriculation ceremony is held
• Sunday, November 15 – Penalty‑based registration for fresh students ends
• Sunday, November 22 – The student registration portal for the 2026/2027 Harmattan Semester is permanently closed
• Monday, November 23 – Mid‑semester Continuous Assessment (CA) tests via CBT begin
• Saturday, November 28 – Mid‑semester Continuous Assessment (CA) tests via CBT finish
• Monday, November 30 – Lectures for the 2026/2027 Harmattan Semester continue for all students

• Wednesday, December 23 – The Christmas/New Year break starts
