The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) Student Affairs Division, operating under the Vice‑Chancellor’s office, has circulated a notice to all students concerning inappropriate attire on campus.
The memo, dated 14 October 2026 and bearing reference number FUNAAB/VC/SAD/154/VOL. II, carries the signature of Dean of Student Affairs Professor P. T. Adeosun. In it, the university’s leadership voiced serious concern about the rising incidence of immodest and unsuitable clothing choices among a segment of the student body.
Management highlighted that such behaviour directly contravenes the University Dress Code stipulated in the Students’ Code of Conduct and the Matriculation Oath that every student pledged to honor.
Consequently, the administration urged every student to refrain from attire that clashes with the institution’s values, character and academic environment, warning that further violations will no longer be tolerated.
The circular listed the following as instances of indecent dressing:
The notice further warned that any student identified breaching the dress standards after this advisory will be subject to disciplinary measures as outlined in the university’s existing regulations. The Student Affairs Division, together with the campus Security Unit, has been tasked with locating offenders and enforcing compliance.
The administration closed with the reminder, “To be forewarned is to be forearmed,” and appealed for the full cooperation of the student community in preserving the university’s respectable image, discipline and reputation.
