In a remarkable display of determination, 94-year-old Adedapo Idowu has registered for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), taking a bold step toward achieving his lifelong dream of pursuing tertiary education.  

Idowu’s inspiring story was featured in the latest bulletin of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), where he shared his excitement about the opportunity. “I can now attain my dream at an advanced age,” he said, expressing gratitude for the chance to further his education.  

Describing the UTME registration process as smooth and efficient, he commended JAMB for integrating the National Identity Number (NIN) into the system. According to him, this initiative has helped eliminate discrimination against the elderly, underprivileged, and individuals with disabilities.  

“The registration staff made me feel included with their warm reception at the registration venue,” he noted.  

Idowu encouraged JAMB to maintain its seamless registration process and expressed confidence in his ability to excel in the upcoming examination. He also urged other candidates to approach their academic journey with professionalism and contentment, emphasizing that education is a lifelong pursuit.
