The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has officially opened applications into its Distance Learning Institute (DLI) for the 2025/2026 academic session.

The DLI operates an open and distance learning system tailored for candidates who desire flexibility while earning a fully recognised UNILAG degree.

General Admission Requirements

• Applicants must possess five O’Level credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained from SSCE, GCE, or NECO, in not more than two sittings.

• Year Two Entry: Candidates must hold NCE, ND (minimum of Lower Credit), JUPEB, IJMB, or GCE A’ Level in relevant subjects.

• Year Three Entry: Applicants must have HND (Lower Credit minimum) or a Bachelor’s degree (at least Third Class), alongside evidence of NYSC discharge, exemption, or exclusion.

• Candidates with recognised professional qualifications such as ICAN, ACA, ACCA, ANAN, ACIB, CIBN, CII, ACMA, ACIS, or ANACIA are also eligible for Year Three admission.

• Awaiting result candidates are not eligible.

• Applicants must be at least 16 years old by 31 October 2025.

• Admission is open to all qualified applicants, including those with learning challenges.

• Basic computer literacy is required, as the programme runs on an ICT-supported blended learning format.

• UTME is not required for admission into the UNILAG Distance Learning Institute.

Application Procedure

The application process is in two stages:

Stage One: JAMB Registration

• Visit the JAMB CAPS platform and complete the registration.

• Pay ₦3,500 to obtain a JAMB registration number.

Stage Two: UNILAG DLI Application

• Visit the UNILAG Distance Learning application portal: applications.unilag.edu.ng/home

• Click Start Fresh Application.

• Select Distance Learning Institute as the application type and provide required personal details, including JAMB registration number, phone number, and email address.

• Click Pay Now to pay the ₦20,000 application fee online, or generate a Remita slip for payment at any commercial bank.

• After payment, return to the portal and select Continue Application.

• Log in using the payment reference number and surname (in lower case) as the password.

• Complete the application form, upload the required documents, submit online, and print a copy for reference.

• Saved applications can be edited before final submission.
