The Federal University of Technology, Minna, Students' Union Government (SUG) has issued a stern warning to students regarding the vandalism and misuse of the institution's sports facilities.
In a recent press release, signed by the union's Secretary General, Comr. Arowosegbe Daniel Precious, and President, Comr. Sen. Adadu Ezekiel Machofo, the SUG expressed concern over the increasing incidents of damage to these facilities. Some of the highlighted incidents include driving vehicles onto the basketball court for content creation purposes, playing football on the handball court, and other improper uses of designated areas.
The SUG emphasized that such actions are a serious breach of school rules, resulting in financial losses, infrastructure damage, and denying fellow students safe access to these facilities. The union strongly advised all students to refrain from any form of vandalism or misconduct related to the sports facilities, stating that further occurrences would attract strict disciplinary action in line with school regulations.
The SUG, through the Office of the Director of Sports, called upon the student body to cooperate fully in protecting and responsibly using the facilities, for the collective benefit of the community.
