The University of Maiduguri, commonly referred to as UNIMAID, has formally announced the resumption schedule for the impending 2025/2026 academic session. This development follows a circular issued by the Office of the Registrar, signed by Mrs. Zara Umar Ibrahim, who serves as the Deputy Registrar for the Directorate of Senate and Academic Matters. The decision to release the schedule was made during the 321st meeting of the University Senate, which took place on Thursday, November 13, 2025.

The university is slated to reopen its doors for the new academic session on Thursday, January 15, 2026. New students are expected to begin their registration process on the same day, January 15, 2026. Meanwhile, returning students will commence their registration on Monday, January 26, 2026. All students, both new and returning, can expect academic activities to officially kick off on Monday, February 2, 2026, as this marks the beginning of lectures for the 2025/2026 academic session.

In a gesture of goodwill, the university management has extended its best wishes to the entire staff and student body, hoping for a successful and productive academic session ahead.
