The Taraba State University, located in Jalingo, has announced the official start of admissions for its Sandwich Degree Programme for the 2026-2027 academic session. This announcement was made through the Office of the Registrar, marking the beginning of the application process for prospective students.
The university's Sandwich Degree Programme offers a variety of professional degree options, including the Bachelor of Arts in Education (B.A. Ed.), the Bachelor of Library and Information Science (B.LIS), and the Bachelor of Science in Education (B.Sc. Ed.). These programmes cover a wide range of disciplines, such as Educational Administration and Planning, Business Education, Technology Education, Computer Science, Christian Religious Studies, Economics, English Language, Geography, Hausa, Guidance and Counseling, Islamic Studies, Health Education, Social Studies, Integrated Science, Library and Information Science, Mathematics, Agriculture, Political Science, Biology, Chemistry, Home Economics, Physics, and Education History.
For those interested in applying, the university has outlined two primary entry points. For 200 Level Admission, candidates must have an NCE, Diploma, or JAMB qualification with an overall merit pass or above, along with at least five credit passes including Mathematics and English Language. A JAMB Direct Entry application form is also required. It's worth noting that holders of NCE or Diploma will spend four academic years in the programme.
For 100 Level Admission, candidates must have five credit passes at GCE/WASC or SSCE level, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings. Additionally, they must meet the acceptable UTME cut-off point. To apply, prospective applicants are required to purchase application forms at a cost of Five Thousand Naira (N5,000.00) only, with all payments made online via the university's portal: www.staniversity.edu.np/home/portal/application/register.php. Applicants must then present evidence of payment at the Sandwich Office located at the Taraba State University Main Campus.
