The University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) has officially announced the schedule for the 2026 hostel accommodation process, applicable to both returning and new students. This important update was communicated by the Dean of Student Affairs, Professor Ahmadu M. Brono, through a notice dated January 12, 2026.

The university's hostels are set to open for student occupation starting Monday, January 26, 2026. To secure accommodation, students must follow a specific process. Firstly, student PINs, which are mandatory for transactions, will be available for collection at the designated Microfinance Bank from Thursday, January 15, 2026.

The official booking and payment period for hostel rooms is scheduled to run from January 26, 2026, to February 9, 2026. It is crucial for students to note that the university administration has emphasized the importance of meeting the payment deadline. Any hostel booking for which full payment is not completed by the end of the day on February 9, 2026, will be automatically revoked.
