The University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) is pleased to announce that its Africa Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Power and Energy Development (ACE-SPED) is now accepting applications for various postgraduate programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session. A limited number of scholarships are available to qualified candidates, offering a unique opportunity to specialize in cutting-edge areas of study.
The centre invites applications from interested individuals to pursue advanced degrees in the following fields: Renewable and New Energy Systems (M.Eng/M.Sc and Ph.D), Power Engineering (M.Eng/M.Sc and Ph.D), Sustainable Energy Materials Engineering (M.Eng/M.Sc and Ph.D), Industrial Electronics and Power Devices (M.Eng/M.Sc and Ph.D), Control and Instrumentation Engineering (M.Eng/M.Sc and Ph.D), Energy Policy, Regulation and Management (M.Eng/M.Sc and Ph.D), Engineering Design & Product Development (M.Eng/M.Sc and Ph.D), Management of Technology and Innovation (MoTI) (M.Sc and Ph.D), and Additive Manufacturing/3-D Printing Technology (Post Graduate Diploma).
The programme durations are as follows: M.Sc Programme (3 Semesters, 18 Months), Ph.D Programme (6 Semesters, 36 Months), and Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) in 3D Printing (2 Semesters, 12 Months). Prospective applicants should note the following important timelines: Application Deadline (31st January, 2026), Physical/Virtual Interview (9th February, 2026), Admission Notification (16th February, 2026), Admission Acceptance Deadline (23rd February, 2026), and Commencement of Session/Registration (23rd February, 2026).
To apply, interested candidates are required to follow these steps: Pay a non-refundable application fee of ₦26,700 via the official Remita platform (https://login.remita.net/remita/onepage/UNNACESPED/biller.spa) and select 'Application fees'. Then, fill the online application form via the provided link (https://forms.gle/UP2VnM1LbwFRA6UQ8) or by scanning the QR code on the advert. Note that the centre will cover the application cost for non-Nigerian applicants.

The interview format will be physical for resident applicants and virtual for non-resident applicants.
