JAMB 2026 UTME Guide: Important Dates, Costs, Compulsory Novel And Subject Requirements

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that registration for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will commence on Friday, January 31, 2026, and conclude on Wednesday, March 5, 2026. This period is crucial for prospective candidates to complete their registration and prepare for the examination.

Key Dates for JAMB 2026

- UTME Registration: January 31 – March 5, 2026
- Direct Entry (DE) Registration: March 10 – April 7, 2026
- Mock Exam Slip Reprinting: April 5, 2026
- Mock Exam Date: April 10, 2026
- Main Exam Slip Reprinting: April 18, 2026
- Main UTME Exam: April 25 – May 5, 2026
- Result Release: May 7, 2026

Registration Fees

- UTME (without Mock): ₦7,200
- UTME (with Mock): ₦8,200
- Direct Entry (DE): ₦5,700

Compulsory Novel

Candidates are required to read The Lekki Headmaster by Kabir Alabi Garba as part of the examination syllabus.

Registration Guidelines

- Accredited Centers: Registration must be completed at JAMB-approved CBT centers.
- Unique Mobile Number: Each candidate must use a unique mobile number for registration.
- National Identification Number (NIN): A valid NIN is mandatory for registration.
