The Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO), has issued an official notice to newly admitted candidates, stressing that the academic programme displayed on the JAMB Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) must exactly match the programme offered by the University.
The University has set a firm deadline for compliance: Monday, 19 January 2026.
Mandatory Programme Correction On JAMB CAPS
FUTO has directed all candidates whose offered programme differs from what appears on their JAMB CAPS profile to immediately log into the CAPS portal and effect the necessary correction.
This directive applies specifically to candidates who have received an admission offer from FUTO but still see a different course reflected on CAPS. The University warns that leaving such discrepancies unresolved may lead to serious admission processing and registration complications.
Compliance Deadline
All affected candidates are required to complete the correction on or before Monday, 19 January 2026. Failure to act within this timeframe may result in avoidable administrative difficulties during documentation and registration.
Guidance For Candidates Unable To Print JAMB Admission Letters
The University also acknowledged reports from admitted candidates who are unable to print their JAMB admission letters. Such candidates have been advised to visit the University Admissions Office for proper assistance and step-by-step guidance to resolve the issue.
Official Memo Details
The directive was conveyed through an official memorandum signed by the University Admissions Officer, Professor I. J. Ogoke.
The memo bears the reference number FUTO/VC/UAO/GEN.5/II/002 and was addressed to the Director of the Information and Communication Technology Centre (ICTC), with instructions for the notice to be published on the University’s official website for public awareness.
What Candidates Should Do Immediately
Newly admitted candidates are advised to promptly verify their programme details on JAMB CAPS and correct any inconsistencies before the deadline. A simple check now can prevent unnecessary admission challenges later.
