Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, has announced the release of additional hostel bedspaces for the mop-up stage of the 2025/2026 undergraduate accommodation exercise. The update was issued by the Student Affairs Division and represents the final allocation for the session.

Reservation And Payment Timeline
The newly released bedspaces will become available for reservation and payment from 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2026. Students who successfully reserve a bedspace are advised to complete payment immediately, as any delay may result in automatic withdrawal of the allocation.

Available Hostels For Female Students
Both fresh and returning female students may secure accommodation in the following hostels:
    •    Ramat Blocks F, G, and H
    •    Suleiman Hall (A Blocks)

The University also disclosed that renovation work at the Ramat Blocks is expected to be completed over the weekend, clearing the facilities for occupancy.

Available Hostels For Male Students
Male students are eligible to reserve bedspaces in:
    •    Danfodio Extension Blocks 1 and 2
    •    Shehu Idris Hall

Hostels With No Remaining Bedspaces
According to the University, all other undergraduate hostels have reached full capacity. These include:
    •    Amina Hall
    •    Ribadu Hall
    •    Alexander Hall
    •    Suleiman F Blocks

The mop-up allocation listed above therefore represents the last opportunity for on-campus accommodation under the 2025/2026 exercise.

Hall Residency Rules And Student Responsibility
The Student Affairs Division reiterated the need for strict compliance with the Hall Residency Regulations. Students are reminded to:
    •    Refrain from writing or defacing hostel walls
    •    Use electrical facilities responsibly
    •    Promptly report room or facility issues to hall authorities

The University emphasized that occupants will be held financially responsible for any damage caused to hostel rooms or facilities.
