The Nigeria Education Repository and Databank (NERD) has issued an important advisory to students and prospective Corps members regarding the approved procedure for NERD enrolment and related services.
Students are strongly advised against physically visiting cyber cafes or centers for NERD-related processes, as all services are designed to be conducted virtually and remotely via phone, email, WhatsApp, etc.
As part of its job creation mandate, NERD has partnered with Nigerian entrepreneurs to establish over 1,200 Digital Service Centres (DSC) across the nation. Each DSC has about 3 Enrolment Centre Operators (ECO). To ensure authenticity, students must engage only accredited NERD DSCs or Enrolment Centre Operators (ECOs) whose verified contact details are published on the NERD lookup portal.
Key points to note include: distance is not a barrier, and an accredited DSC or ECO can process registrations irrespective of geographical location. It is essential to confirm the accreditation status of any Centre or Operator via the official lookup portal before engaging their services. If their details are not found on the portal, students should not engage them.
The maximum approved charge for accredited DSC services is N2,500. Any DSC or ECO demanding more than this should be reported to support@ned.gov.ng.
For further clarification or assistance, contact NERD Support at 08060044989 or support@ned.gov.ng. Adhering to this directive helps safeguard the integrity, transparency, and security of the NERD system.
