The University of Calabar has scheduled a pre-mobilisation briefing for its final year students who are prospective corps members, ahead of the 2026 National Youth Service Corps exercise.
According to a memo issued by the Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Eyo Mensah, the briefing will take place on Tuesday, 10th March 2026, from 10am to 12pm at the Godswill Akpabio International Conference Centre in Calabar.
The briefing, which will be conducted by the Director of Corps Mobilisation from NYSC headquarters, aims to guide final year students on mobilisation procedures and requirements for the national service programme. All Faculty Officers and Heads of Department have been directed to notify and mobilise their final year students for the event, as attendance is mandatory for all prospective corps members.
This pre-mobilisation briefing is part of NYSC's efforts to strengthen data integrity and internal validation processes across corps-producing institutions. The NYSC mobilisation process involves several critical steps, including final clearance at school, obtaining statements of results, and confirming names appear on both the JAMB Matriculation List and the NYSC Senate List.
During the briefing, students will receive guidance on registration guidelines, documentation and data reconciliation, date of birth issues, and procedures for exemption certificates where applicable. The 2026 NYSC calendar projects Batch A mobilisation to begin between January and February, with online registration expected in February and orientation camps opening in March.
