The Kano State Government, through the Ministry of Education, has set the dates for the second term holiday in the 2025/2026 academic session. This applies to all public and private primary and secondary schools in the state.

The break aims to provide students and staff with necessary rest and preparation time before the final term. The holiday schedule is as follows: Day Schools: Friday, 17 April, 2026 Boarding Schools: Saturday, 18 April, 2026

The Commissioner of Education, Gwani Dr. Ali Haruna Abubakar Makoda, wished pupils and students a successful holiday. He advised parents and guardians to monitor their wards and ensure they return promptly for the new term to maintain academic momentum.

Resumption for the third term is scheduled as follows: Boarding Schools: Sunday, 3 May, 2026 Day Schools: Monday, 4 May, 2026

The Commissioner reminded school administrators to comply strictly with the approved academic calendar, reiterating the administration's commitment to a conducive learning environment and high standards in the Kano State education sector.
