The Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) invites the general public and friends of the university to its 199th Inaugural Lecture.

The lecture, titled 'ECO-FRIENDLY INNOVATIONS: Tapping into Plant-Derived Insecticides for Stored Products' Pest Control', will be delivered by Professor Mercy Olayinka Oni (née Akinfenwa), a Professor of Stored Product Entomology.

Professor Oni holds a B.Sc. Ed, M.Ed from the University of Ilorin, and an M.Tech and Ph.D from FUTA. She is a member of several professional associations, including the Entomological Society of Nigeria (MESN), the Mass Spectrometry Society of Nigeria (MASSN), the Science and Technology Association of Nigeria (STAN), the Crop Science Society of Nigeria (CISS), and the Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD).

The lecture is scheduled to hold on Tuesday, 26th May, 2026, at 3:00 PM prompt at the Obafemi Awolowo Auditorium, FUTA. Guests are expected to be seated by 2:45 PM.

The event is chaired by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Adenike Temidayo Oladiji, FAS, and signed by the Registrar, Mr. C.O. Adeleye, FNIM.
