The Faculty of Education at Olabisi Onabanjo University, led by Dean Professor (Mrs) Janet Adetayo, will host the 5th induction ceremony for the 2023/2024 graduates on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at the Otunba Gbenga Daniel Hall, Main Campus, Ago-lwoye, at 12noon.

This ceremony marks a significant milestone for graduates who have completed their teacher training programs and met the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria's (TRCN) professional standards. The newly qualified teachers from Olabisi Onabanjo University will be formally admitted into the teaching profession and registered as licensed teachers by TRCN's Registrar/Chief Executive, Dr. Ronke Soyombo.

The induction lecture, themed 'Professional Ethics, Identity, and Accountability in the Conduct of Teachers in the 21st Century,' will be delivered by Dr. Lukmon Adeola Kiadese, the immediate-past Provost of Sikiru Adetona College of Education, Science and Technology, and currently the Special Adviser to the Ogun State Governor on Education.

Under the chairmanship of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ayodeji Agboola, the 5th edition of the ceremony highlights the university's partnership with TRCN to align teacher training with national standards, strengthening the link between academic preparation and professional practice.

According to Dr. Peter Abayomi Onanuga, Chairman of the Faculty Induction Committee, 'The induction is not just a ceremony; it reflects TRCN's commitment to raising the quality and professionalism of teachers in Nigeria's basic and post-basic educational system.' He added, 'We are proud of our graduates who are about to join the teaching profession.'

All inductees are advised to arrive early and come with the required items as communicated by the Faculty of Education, while members of the university community, including staff and students, are invited to join the eminent guests at the event.
