The National University Commission (NUC) has approved the commencement of LAUTECH’s Open and Distance Learning Centre (LODLC).
A release signed by the Executive Secretary of the Commission, Professor Julius Okojie explained that the approval is sequel to the validated status recommended by the panel of ODL/subject matter expert and NUC representative that visited the LAUTECH centre recently.

The release further reads that the centre may commence operation with B.Sc Computer Science Programme via the instrumentality of the ICT enabled learning model of Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode of delivery.
Meanwhile, two Postgraduate degree programmes of the institution have also been accredited. A separate letter signed by the Deputy Executive Secretary of the Commission, Professor C. Mafiana, said the accreditation was coming after due consideration of the submission by its team that examined the papers and facilities at LAUTECH.
