Renowned Bible Teacher and Founder of the Living Seed Ministries, Gboko, Benue State Bro. Gbile Akanni has assured the Management, staff and students of the Federal University of Technology, Akure of God’s commitment to His covenant with the Institution. Akanni made the declaration while presiding over the 8th Covenant service tagged “Renewal of Covenant of Life, Favour and Outstanding Breakthrough” held at the main auditorium of the University on Sunday, 8th November, 2015 under the aegis of the FUTA Christian Community.

Bro. Akanni who took his text from the book of II Chronicles 15:1-9 said “a covenant established with God is a double assurance since God can never lose his power nor break his word”. He said when people make a covenant with God they can withstand any opposition because God will change the course of events to favour those who are committed to Him. Speaking further the man of God said that it takes courage to establish a covenant with God regardless of public opinion and that the devil is powerless in the face of righteousness. He therefore urged all present to avoid compromise and double mindedness because God is a jealous God who will nonetheless honour all who will honour him no matter the cost. He admonished all to renew their covenant regularly at the altar of prayer.

Bro. Gbile Akanni, expressed his delight with the management’s idea of covenanting with God saying “you have brought God into FUTA and his hand will never be removed even after your tenure. Anyone who steps into your office, has entered into a perpetual covenant with God.” He commended the Vice-Chancellor’s spiritual leadership over the institution. His words “Your commitment to stand for God in times like these is very courageous. Your achievements are a reflection of the fulfillment of God’s call on your life.” The man of God declared that FUTA will still achieve greater success through international recognition. He said the students will continually be outstanding among their peers while the University will achieve global feats by virtue of the covenant with God.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Adebiyi Daramola who led staff and students to the service expressed his profound gratitude to Bro. Gbile Akanni for honouring the University’s invitation. He said the prophetic utterances of the man of God are a confirmation of where God is taking the institution. Daramola said “miracles have already started and the joy of FUTA is just beginning because there is interest in the Institution within and outside the country” The Vice-Chancellor said he was blessed with an efficient management team and a crop of the most committed staff and well behaved students . He enjoined all members of the FUTA community to key into what God was doing in the University.

The service was attended by principal officers, Deans, Directors, the Clergy, Academic and Non-academic heads, staff, students and friends of the University.
