Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) has confirmed that academic activities for the 2026/2027 session will restart on Monday, 12 October 2026.
The notice appeared in an official circular signed by Registrar Sir Ambrose Ugwu.
The circular also confirmed that the 2025/2026 session has officially closed after the second‑term exams, and it called on both returning and newly admitted students to report for classes on the stipulated day.
"We wish to inform the university community that the 2025/2026 academic session has ended and students are now on break."
"The 2026/2027 academic session will resume for both new entrants and continuing students starting Monday, 12 October 2026," the statement added.
The administration also set a one‑month window for lecturers to forward their second‑semester results, enabling subsequent processes to proceed promptly.
"According to university regulations, semester examination results must be submitted within a month for review by the Result Committee," the notice read.
"This timeline will also support course‑change procedures and the assessment of students within their respective programmes," it added.
Although the university has entered its vacation period, the circular clarified that staff members and the ESUT College of Medicine will continue to operate and are not subject to the break.
For reference, the second semester of the 2025/2026 session concluded on 10 August after the final examinations.
