Northwest University, Sokoto (NWUS) announced the approval of its 2026/2027 academic calendar following the Senate meeting held on Friday, 25 September 2026.

The calendar sets out the principal academic milestones for both the first and second semesters, covering admission confirmation, registration periods, lecture timetables, examination windows, script marking, and Senate review of results.

First Semester

• Confirmation of Admission & Registration of New Students: 21 September – 21 October 2026
• Registration of Returning Students: 19 October – 31 October 2026
• Lectures: 2 November 2026 – 27 February 2027
• Mid‑Semester Break: 21 December 2026 – 2 January 2027
• First Semester Examinations: 1 March – 20 March 2027
• Marking & Moderation: 22 March – 16 April 2027
• Senate Consideration of Results: 20 April – 22 April 2027

Second Semester

• Lectures: 26 April – 14 August 2027
• Mid‑Semester Break: 21 June – 26 June 2027
• Second Semester Examinations: 16 August – 4 September 2027
• Marking & Moderation: 6 September – 2 October 2027
• Senate Consideration of Results: 5 October – 7 October 2027

The university also noted that the 2027/2028 academic session is slated to commence in October 2027.

All students and staff are urged to mark these dates on their calendars and arrange their activities accordingly.
