Bwaigu Fungo, a forensic and intelligence analyst with the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, disclosed that Cyril Ndifon, the suspended Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Calabar, forwarded videos sent by a witness named TKJ to another number.
According to Fungo, a total of 16 nude videos were extracted from Ndifon’s phone, with only three belonging to TKJ, whose identity was protected by the court due to her status as a diploma of law graduate.
TKJ testified that Ndifon demanded oral sex and her virginity in exchange for admission into the full LLB programme. Additionally, she accused the suspended dean of coercing her into giving him oral sex in front of her hostel, inside his car.
Ndifon faces trial for alleged sexual harassment and gratification against TKJ and others, with his lawyer, Sunny Anyanwu, also implicated for allegedly urging TKJ to disregard the ICPC’s invitation.
During the trial on Monday at the Federal High Court in Abuja, Fungo, the fourth witness, revealed that Ndifon forwarded TKJ’s nude videos to a number ending with 617.
"We observed that the videos received were forwarded to another subscriber. What I mean is that the nude videos sent by TKJ to the professor were sent to another number. That number ends with 617. There was also a video sent by TKJ and another phone was used to record the video while being played on the phone," Fungo explained.
He emphasized that out of the 16 nude videos extracted from Ndifon’s phone, only three were from TKJ, one of which was sent on September 26, 2023, following a request from Ndifon.
Under cross-examination by the defendant’s counsel, Joe Agi, (SAN), Fungo asserted that the forensics analysis indicated that the nude videos were not sent voluntarily by TKJ.
Responding to Agi's request to replay the nude videos to confirm TKJ's movements, Fungo confirmed the presence of movement in the videos.
Following Agi's request for an adjournment to continue his cross-examination of Fungo, and his application for the Nigerian Correctional Service to provide adequate medical treatment to the second defendant, Justice James Omotoso granted the oral application and adjourned the hearing until February 14.
